Health and safety is Thiess Kentz's primary consideration in all its activities. The health and safety of our people cannot be compromised. Within our industry today, the emphasis on the protection of employees is becoming ever more evident. To achieve this goal Thiess Kentz has developed a Management System which meets the requirements of OHSAS 18001 to ensure the protection of our employees. The effective implementation of our Health and Safety Management System has resulted in a safe working environment for all which is demonstrated by our achievement of over two million man-hours all LTI free, as at 31st July 2008 . Thiess Kentz will work to eliminate hazardous practices and behaviour which could cause accidents, injuries or illness to employees, contractors, visitors and the general public. The Company strives to have injury free workplaces. Our goal is to provide a safe workplace for all employees. To achieve this goal Thiess Kentz will: comply with all relevant statutory obligations; focus on behavioural safety initiatives supported by senior management; provide adequate resources to establish and maintain safe systems of work; ensure all incidents are reported and thoroughly investigated with a view to preventing a similar incident reoccurring; provide health and safety training for employees; employ contractors who aspire to the same health and safety standards as the Company; undertake regular audits to ensure effective implementation of management systems and continuous improvement in this area.
